The cult-classic Gothic drama DARK SHADOWS celebrated its 45th Anniversary on the weekend of August 19-21, 2011 at the New York Mariott Brooklyn Bridge with a dozen original actors from the show along with nearly 2,000 fans from across the country and beyond.
Among the highlights of the weekend was the first-ever dramatic stage appearance together by Jonathan Frid (Barnabas Collins) and David Selby (Quentin Collins). Additionally, Lara Parker (Angelique) and Jerry Lacy (Reverend Trask) teamed up to play their orginal characters in a witty skit penned by Lacy for the occasion.
Frid also presented commentary with a selection of his favorite scenes from DARK SHADOWS while David Selby, Kathryn Leigh Scott, Lara Parker and Chris Pennock all read passages from their latest books ranging from career anecdotes and historical perspective to fiction focusing on vampires and DARK SHADOWS characters.
A Gallery of creative fans dressed in a wide range of special apparel to participate in the Saturday evening costume gala, and the weekend was capped with a special banquet dinner and awards ceremony on Sunday evening in which the DARK SHADOWS actors were honored for their contributions in such categories as favorite ghost, favorite reincarnated character, favorite villain and favorite vampire.
